A 3-day Advocacy and Leadership training for Local Support Organization (LSO) office bearers was arranged by NRSP regional office in District Kech under Balochistan Rural Development and Community Empowerment (BRACE) Programme funded by European Union (EU) in Pakistan.
The training programme was attended by 34 participants of which 18 were female and 16 were males. The training focused on multiple messages revolving around effective community management and best leadership models.
Deputy Director Social Welfare Turbat Qadeer Luqman highlighted the importance of working together for a better future for generations to come. Luqman said that the people of Pakistan should treat every human being the same way and there should not be any discrimination.
In its press release, NRCP said that active participation of women was a pre-requisite for achieving effective and people-centered development. It said that in Balochistan, women were more inactive in comparison to other provinces in Pakistan and that the authority to sensitive roles was assigned to men more often than not.
NRCP said that in collaboration with BRACE and Government of Balochistan, the committee aims to bring social transformation and shrink the social gap between men and women.
Established in 1991, NRSP is the largest Rural Support Programme in the country with presence in 66 Districts in all four Provinces including Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) through Regional and Field Offices.
