Initial details shared by the Pakistan Railways indicate that a Millat Express train that was going from Karachi to Sargodha derailed. It then collided with a Sir Syed Express train that was coming from Rawalpindi. The officials further said that the incident took place near the Raiti railway station.

Meanwhile, the Sir Syed Express train passed through Raiti at 03:38am.
