In a video uploaded on Capital TV’s YouTube channel, a clueless prime minister could be seen walking with Interior Minister Ijaz Shah, Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed and his security officials in the National Assembly premises.
At one point, apparently apprehensive about where he was going, the prime minister stopped and asked his security personnel, “Are we going to the assembly? Where are you taking me?”
The situation seemed funny as the prime minister of the country, the leader of the House in the National Assembly, himself had forgotten the way to the National Assembly.
The prime minister was on his way to the assembly to partake in the voting on the bills formalising the tenure of the services chiefs.
The bill was passed with unanimous support of the ruling party and the two major opposition parties, the PML-N and the PPP. The bill was only opposed by the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Jamaat-i-Islami (JI), Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) and National Party (NP) and independent lawmakers including Mohsin Dawar and Ali Wazir.
