On the orders of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javaid Bajwa, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) has been dispatched to Quetta, a day after the clash between police and doctors over the non-availability protective gear, Director General Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar said on Tuesday.
DG ISPR Babar Iftikhar took to Twitter to inform people about the recent development. He said that emergency supplies, including PPP was sent to Quetta so that the doctors could fight coronavirus ‘effectively’ in Balochistan.

The DG ISPR quoted COAS General Qamar Bajwa as saying, “Doctors & paramedics are the frontline soldiers in this war. Most advanced nations / govts are finding it extremely difficult to fight this pandemic. Pakistan Govt is striving hard to acquire & supply the required resources. In this hour of distress we must remain patient and steadfast.”
On Monday, Police had beaten up and arrested more than 150 doctors and medical staff members for protesting against the non-availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during their fight against the deadly coronavirus.
