To express their gratitude to the Pakistani prime minister for making this corridor a reality, Sikhs in Amritsar have placed billboards at various places with pictures of Imran Khan.
The Kartapur corridor would be inaugurated on November 9. The Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib, located a few kilometres from the Indo-Pak border, is revered among the Sikhs, as it was the place where Baba Guru Nanak settled and preached during the last 18 years of his life. It is also Guru Nanak’s final resting place.
Kartarpur Corridor would be potentially used by 5000 Sikh pilgrims daily. On Friday, Prime Minister Imran Khan had waived off two requirements for Sikh pilgrims, in order to facilitate their visit to the holy place.
