Israeli forces have continued their assaults in Gaza, resulting in the deaths of 40 people and injuries to 71 others within the past 24 hours. This escalation marks another day of severe conflict and loss.

In a related development, Israel has recently returned the decomposed bodies of approximately 90 unidentified Palestinians to Gaza. These bodies had reportedly been held by the Israeli army for several months. The return of these bodies highlights the ongoing humanitarian challenges and the broader impact of the conflict on civilians.

A Palestinian woman, Wafaa Jarrar, 50, from Jenin, died on Monday from severe injuries she sustained while in Israeli custody two months ago. Jarrar was being treated at Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin when she passed away. The Palestinian Commission on Detainees and Ex-Detainee Affairs reported that her injuries were a result of her arrest by Israeli forces. Approached by the AFP, the Israeli military said it was looking into the matter.

Diplomatic pressure is mounting to prevent further escalation between Iran and Israel following recent high-profile killings that have heightened regional tensions. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Sunday that Israel is resolute in its stance against Iran and its allied groups on all fronts.

As Israeli forces’ assaults in Gaza approach their 11th month, concerns are growing about potential retaliation from the "Axis of Resistance," a coalition of Iran-aligned groups. The recent killing of Ismail Haniyeh, the political leader of Hamas, in Tehran on Wednesday has further inflamed the situation.
