Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz was not released from prison today as the party failed to pay her surety bonds.
Today, the lawyer of the PML-N informed the registrar of the Lahore High Court that documents pertaining to Maryam Nawaz’s bail had been completed. He requested the registrar for instructions on how to obtain the bail bonds.
However, the registrar rejected the request of Maryam Nawaz’s lawyer, stating that the time of the federal court was till 3:00pm and all the judges of the accountability courts had left.
The registrar apprised the legal representative of PML-N that the surety bonds would be accepted tomorrow.
Yesterday, the Lahore High Court granted bail to PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills Case.
The court had also ordered her to submit surety bonds worth Rs 10 million, deposit an additional sum of Rs 70 million and also surrender her passport.
