Several options are being discussed in Islamabad and GHQ to prevent the judiciary from facilitating the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and its founder, Imran Khan, said senior analyst Muzamal Suharwardy.

While speaking at a program on Naya Daur TV, the analyst said that shifting Imran Khan’s cases from Islamabad High Court (IHC) to any other high court is also being discussed as the IHC is facilitating him.

Suharwardy further said that new cases might be lodged against Imran Khan; otherwise, the judiciary will release him. He said that the state has been shocked by the IHC judgment in the cipher case. Despite strong evidence against Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi, they were acquitted by the court in the Cipher case.

The analyst said that Imran Khan believes the judiciary is with him, therefore he can do whatever he wants.

He said that hearings of the Imran Khan iddat case will start on June 25, adding that the judgment will be announced in July.

Suharwardy said that the government is with the army, whereas the judiciary is standing alone on the opposite end.

He also expressed concern over the court's order to de-seal PTI’s central secretariat in Islamabad. “If a political party’s office is illegal, how can it ensure the rule of law in the country?" he questioned.

While responding to a question, Suharwardy said that Senator Faisal Vawda has raised a valid question over equal access to justice. Vawda’s stance is that contempt of court should also be applied to those who initiated malicious campaigns against Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, he added.
