Reacting to Pakistan's move to issue a new political map showing occupied Kashmir a part of Pakistan, India said that it was an 'exercise in political absurdity'. Indian Foreign Ministry was quoted by the Indian media as saying, “These ridiculous assertions have neither legal validity nor international credibility. In fact, this new effort only confirms reality of Pakistan’s obsession with territorial aggrandisement supported by cross-border terrorism."

On Tuesday, Pakistan's federal cabinet approved a new ‘political map’ of the country that shows India-occupied Kashmir as a part of the Pakistani territory.

The move came ahead of Aug 5, the day Kashmir lost its autonomous status after India revoked Article 370 last year.

This is the most historic day in Pakistan’s history,” Prime Minister Imran Khan said in a press conference after the meeting.
According to the premier, the map was approved by all political parties and it would be made part of national curriculum as well.

“This map also opposes the Indian government’s illegal act of August 5 last year,” he said, going on to call it a ‘historic day’.
