Missing Person Commission Disposes 3793 Out Of 6051 Cases: Report

The Missing Person Commission has disposed 3793 cases out of 6051 upto April 30, a monthly progress report on enforced disappearances revealed.

The commission chairman Javed Iqbal termed the monthly progress report a 'great achievement'. A total number of 5915 cases were reported to the commission upto March 31. During April, 136 more cases were reported, making the total numbers of cases 6051.

It is important to note here that the Federal Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances, during the month of April disposed of 59 cases and now the remaining cases number 2258

The Missing Person Commission has conducted 715 hearings, 289 hearings in Islamabad, 130 hearings in Peshawar, 172 hearings in Karachi, 54 hearings in Lahore and 70 hearings in Quetta upto April 30, 2019.

A statement of the commission claimed that the efforts of commission's chairman and other members have been appreciated by the relatives and families of missing persons.
