A tussle between the military and judiciary has entered its final phase after the acquittal of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his party leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi in the Cipher case, said senior analyst Muzamal Suharwardy.

While speaking at a program on Naya Daur TV, the analyst said that either the military or judiciary will rule the country, adding that both cannot co-exist now. He said that Imran Khan is attacking state institutions, but the judiciary is continuously providing him relief.

Suharwardy said that the parliament, government, and military will devise a move to remove such judges who are issuing their authority and providing relief to a political party.

He said that the judiciary alleged that the establishment intervenes in court affairs, but in reality, the judiciary is interfering and providing relief to Imran Khan and his party leaders.

Suharwardy said that the judiciary is taking advantage of the leniency and silence of the army, adding that it could cause serious consequences.

While responding to a question, the analyst said that Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani remarked that those behind the malicious campaign against IHC Justice Babar Sattar should be traced and punished. He added that all judges remain silent when the PTI launches a malicious campaign against Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa. This is a dual standard of judiciary, he said. How can a judge of a high court hold a US green card? he questioned.
