Dr. Mahrang Baloch, a prominent human rights activist and leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), has been recognized in Time magazine's prestigious "TIME100 Next" list for 2024. The magazine, released on Wednesday, highlights influential leaders, innovators, advocates, and artists who are making significant impacts early in their careers.

Dr. Baloch was honored for her peaceful advocacy for Baloch rights, particularly for leading the December 2023 march to Islamabad, where hundreds of women demanded "justice for their husbands, sons, and brothers." 

The 31-year-old doctor expressed her gratitude in a Facebook post, sharing a photo of herself in the magazine

“I am deeply honored and delighted to be named among the top 100 emerging leaders of the world by TIME,” she stated, reflecting on the significance of this recognition.
