Per details, an FIR was registered at the Lohi Bher police station in the capital city on the complaint of Khurram Yousaf’s brother-in-law under Section 365 (kidnapping or abducting with the intent secretly and wrongfully to confine a person) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Yousaf, his wife and three children have been missing since the last one week, said the suspect’s brother-in-law. His house is also locked and the family’s mobile phones have also been switched off, he added.
The complainant alleged that another suspect in the video scandal, namely Nasir Janjua, was responsible for this incident. My brother-in-law was very worried about the case and had been in contact with Janjua, he added. He also called for the earlier recovery of the suspect.
Earlier on September 7, a judicial magistrate had set free three suspects, including Janjua, Yousaf and Mahar Ghulam Jilani from the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) custody after a report from the agency showed that no evidence was found against them in connection with an investigation into the video leak case.
In the first week of September, the three men were picked up in connection with judge Malik’s FIR against them for allegedly pressurising and blackmailing him.
After their release, a cybercrime court had ruled that the order for their discharge from the case did not mean they were acquitted.
Video Leak Scandal
Judge Arshad Malik, who sentenced former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to seven years in jail last December in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills corruption case, has been in the eye of the storm since July 6 after Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz alleged that he had been blackmailed into giving a verdict against her father.
The affidavit, submitted by Malik to the chief justice of Islamabad High Court (IHC) as a rebuttal to Maryam’s press conference, stated that an old acquaintance of his, namely Tariq Mahmood, had showed him a secretly recorded manipulated immoral video showing the judge in a compromising position. The video was shot while the judge was serving in Multan.
Malik later claimed that the video was used by Nasir Butt, a long-time supporter of the PML-N, for the purpose of blackmailing him.
