To conduct peaceful elections, the ECP has directed candidates and all other stakeholders in the Senate Elections to not solicit support or assistance from any person serving in the Pakistani government or holding any public office.
ECP’s code of conduct says that political parties, candidates, voters, and election agents are prohibited from spreading any opinion or acting in any way that is harmful to Pakistan's sovereignty, dignity, or stability, or to the glory of Islam and its ideology.
The other directives in ECP’s code of conduct are that no mobile phones or any kind of electronic devices will be allowed at the voting premise. The ECP has also asked its candidates to keep their receipts of election expenses.
“The candidate will not make any transaction towards the election expenses through an account other than the account opened for the purpose and a candidate may open the bank account for election expenses with an amount not exceeding the limit of election expenses provided under Section 132. (Section 133 of the Elections Act, 2017), “ ECP’s code of conduct says.
