Dawn Under Attack: History Of Censorship In Pakistan

Dawn’s office in Islamabad was attacked on Monday. This is not the first time Dawn has come under attack. Its circulation was stopped in cantonment areas last year and its ads were being blocked. Hameed Haroon in an interview with BBC had complained that the state was trying to hurt Dawn’s financial interests. Dawn group’s owners have traditionally had cordial relations with the state authorities. But the things haven’t been the same during the last few years.
