‘Don’t Follow Me’: ‘Halima Sultan’ Finally Responds To Pakistani Moral Police

Leading lady of the highly popular Turkish show, Diriliş: Ertuğrul, Esra Bilgiç is constantly hounded by Pakistani men who can't seem to separate her from the role she plays on the show. The actor plays the part of Halima Sultan, a pious woman who is covered in traditional Ottoman garb from head to toe. But the actor who plays the part is a woman of the 21st century. She wears jeans and her collarbones are at times are at display.

Her dressing up as she wishes to is something that the Pakistani men don't understand. They've taken to her instagram account to time and again lecture her on what to wear and what not to wear. The actor has finally responded, and it's clear the constant moral policing on her clothes has annoyed her.

A recent comment on a picture of hers said: 'Please don't wear such dresses Halima baji, not good.' To this intrusive comment, Bilgiç  replied: ' Let me give you a little advice. Don't follow me. Thank you."
