He expressed these views while addressing an 'Azadi Parade' in Gilgit Baltistan on the occassion of the region's Independence Day.
Prime Minister Imran Khan announced on Saturday that Gilgit-Baltistan would be given the provincial status keeping in view the UN Security Council (UNSC) resolutions. The prime minister made this announcement while addressing the 'Azadi Parade' on the occassion of Gilgit-Baltistan's Independence Day.
Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan also congratulated the people of GB over this decision. “It was amazing for me to hear that the GB people had liberated themselves from the Dogra rule and decided to annex the region to Pakistan unconditionally,” he said.
The decision to give a provincial status to Gilgit Baltistan comes after long deliberations and it is being seen as a critical development in the context of Pakistan's policy over Kashmir.
Referring to the recent comments by former National Assembly speaker Ayaz Sadiq, PM Khan said that after his decision to return the pilot Abhinandan to India, he received congratulatory messages from all over the world. "He [Sadiq] is saying that Pakistan acted out of fear — which was the basis of Modi's entire election campaign," Imran Khan added.
"I want to tell my nation today that Imran Khan will never forgive these dacoits." said the Prime Minister. He also alleged that the opposition was attacking judiciary.
The PM claimed that the economy was now on the right track and the focus of his government will be on the rule of law. He said that he will strengthen the institutions to bring the corrupt people in the ambit of the law.
PM Imran Khan will also visit the cite of Diamer Bhasha Dam and review its progress.
