The London High Court held a trial of preliminary issues and Justice Jaren Steyn studied the eight publications filed by Bukhari in his petition. The complaint included a Youtube video where Reham Khan was making claims about the Roosevelt Hotel. The judge admitted Zulfi Bukhari's submission, rejecting Reham Khan's assessment of the publications' meaning.
In December 6, 2019, Reham Khan made a youtube video from the UK’s jurisdiction accusing Zulfi Bukhari of having a personal interest in the sale of Manhattan’s Roosevelt Hotel, owned by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). She further alleged that the government was selling Pakistan’s national assets to help people like Zulfi Bukhari in 'robbery'.
Zulfi Bukhari's counsel had told the court that her client was maligned at the highest level by being declared guilty of corruption and dishonesty. Reham Khan had responded to the complaint saying that Bukhari's reputation was not harmed and that the publications were in the public interest.
