Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan is losing grip on his party as a pro-army group has emerged from within the party.

While speaking at a program on Naya Daur TV, senior analyst Muzamal Suharwardy said that PTI overseas activists did not hold any protests on Army Chief General Asim Munir's visit to the United States; in fact, Pakistani doctors affiliated with the PTI attended the dinner arranged in honor of the army chief.

The analyst revealed that PTI leaders Omar Ayub and Sher Afzal Marwat directed the PTI overseas activists to not stage any protests on the arrival of the army chief, but rather that he should be welcomed. However, Imran Khan had ordered PTI overseas activists to stage a strong protest.

Suharwardy said that PTI Senior Vice President Sher Afzal Marwat has fully changed after spending four days in detention. He is now enjoying vacations in Dubai with his family, he added.

The analyst said that a group within the PTI wants action against those party leaders and workers who were involved in the May 9 riots.

While responding to a question, the analyst said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sahrif’s lifelong disqualification will be suspended soon.

To another question, Suharwardy said that the state doesn’t want to allow the PTI to contest elections on the ‘bat’ symbol, adding that the Peshawar High Court (PHC) is not in a position to further facilitate the PTI. The matter will be solved at the Supreme Court, and the PTI will have to fight a long battle to reattain the ‘bat’ symbol, he added.

While responding to a question about a PTI leader Jamshed Dasti's video in which he alleged that police raided his residence and harassed his wife and 10-month-old son, the analyst said that the video is part of the propaganda PTI is pursuing to defame Pakistan at the international level.
