This comes after his comments about Pakistani music in general. According to him, Pakistani music isn’t doing bad at all these days. For him the problem lies in the fact that people, no matter what their training, come up and start picking up classics and do covers of them. For him, those people have no right over that music and do not have the proper training that is required.
He says this while remembering his uncle Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. He remembers his uncles 1994 performance in Hyderabad and says that he was deeply inspired by it.
In the end, he asks TV channels and movies to respect the rights of the people who own the music that they cover. This for him just means that they should give credit to the original composers, writers and singers.
He concluded by saying that the way to revive Pakistani music is to make ourselves good enough so that people come to us instead of we going to them.
