A First Information Report (FIR) was registered against Loralai ASP Atta-ur-Rehman in murder case of Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) leader Arman Loni.

The FIR was registered on orders of the Senate human rights committee and on the complaint of an individual named Abdul Qayyum, under Section 302 (premeditated murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code

Abdul Qayyum told the police that he and a couple of other people accompanying Loni were stopped by the police at 5:50pm near Loralai Public Library. ASP Atta-ur-Rehman then asked about Arman Loni and ordered him to see the cop alone next to their vehicle.

Moments later, ASP Atta-ur-Rehman directed one of his officers to shoot Loni with a Kalashnikov, but the policeman hesitated. Atta then grabbed the Kalashnikov himself and struck Loni until he fell unconscious. Then the cop struck the final blows.

It was also mentioned that the ASI stopped them from taking Loni to the hospital. "ASP Atta-ur-Rehman parked his vehicle in front of ours so we could not take Loni to hospital on time."

Following his death in February, Loni's family and members of PTM had maintained that he was killed in a police crackdown and demanded that the Balochistan government take notice of his death.

His death led to protests by PTM members and human rights activists across the country.

On March 31, PTM conducted a peaceful protest in Peshawar demanding justice for the slain member.

Along with men, a huge number of women was also present at the rally and according to the organisers a section of ground was dedicated for the women protesters and another small section was organised for the disabled and aged people who were also part of protest.
