The Supreme Court of Pakistan has failed to conduct elections on time, and now it is expressing anger at the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and its officials, said senior analyst Muzamal Suharwardy.

During his program on Naya Daur TV, he criticized the dismissal of the ECP plea seeking a review of the apex court judgment regarding Punjab Assembly elections on May 14. "What is the reason for giving such judgments that cannot be implemented? he questioned.

The analyst said that elections in Punjab were not conducted on May 14, and the Supreme Court failed to initiate action against anyone for contempt of court.

Suharwardy said that Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial and other like-minded judges failed to ensure the provision of funds to the ECP.

"The judges who are saying that they will not let anyone violate the constitution, I want to inform them that the constitution has been violated; now you should go home," he said.

The analyst said that the Supreme Court should answer the nation's question about why elections were not held on time as per the constitution.

He also said that Chief Justice Bandial wants to do point scoring before his retirement, but he has not succeeded in it so far.

While responding to a question regarding rising inflation, he said that the country will default if commitments made with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are not fulfilled.

He said the primary reason for rising inflation and a weak economy is that traders are not paying taxes. He suggested that only tax filers should be allowed to do business in the country.

While responding to another question, he said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has filed a plea seeking telephonic contact with his sons in England. He stressed that all citizens of Pakistan should be treated equally; if this facility is not available to other prisoners, it should also not be given to Khan.
