Interior Minister Ijaz Shah has asked Members of the National Assembly Mohsin Dawar and Ali Wazir to work for the resolution of the issues plaguing the tribal areas.

During a session of the National Assembly, Shah spoke of the history of conspiracies Pakistan had fallen victim to and that Prime Minister Imran Khan was personally interested in the former tribal districts.

Shah said that the tribal districts would be experiencing development and prosperity as new development projects were being launched in the province.

On Monday, both Ali Wazir and Mohsin Dawar had made speeches in the National Assembly for the first time since their release from Haripur Jail following imprisonment of four months. The MNAs had been arrested following a clash between Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement supporters and Pakistan Army. The legislators had been accused of leading the alleged attack.

Mohsin Dawar, while addressing the National Assembly, narrated the Kharqamar incident, sticking to his earlier statements about the incident that the army had directly fired at protesters.

He further challenged his fellow legislators to prove the allegation that PTM workers had fired on the soldiers, and added, “Hang us at D-chowk if the allegations are proven true.”

The lawmaker also stated that FIRs were registered against him and Ali Wazir but no cases had been registered against those who had killed 15 of PTM’s workers.

He further read out the names of the 15 people who were allegedly killed during the clash at Kharqamar.

Mohsin Dawar also spoke of Imran Khan’s recent comments that Pakistan had trained Al-Qaeda and asked that who should one ask for justice for the civilians and soldiers who had died in the war against terrorism.
