The PM says one thing during that day and issues a completely different statement at night", he said.
Bilawal said that Imran Khan still remains in the container mode. "Get off the container and act like a PM", he said.
"It was a federal minister who announced that the lockdown would be extended by May 7, but the prime minister says that the decision was made by the 'power elites of the country", he said. He added that the people of Pakistan look to the country's leadership for help during the time of this crisis, but the leadership has failed to reassure them.
Bilawal further said that the federal government was sabotaging provincial governments' efforts against the virus and that it let down every province. "They did not advise any province against allowing Tableeghi Jamaat ijtema and never helped trace the participants", he said.
He also emphasised on the importance of providing protective equipment to the healthcare workers, adding the frontline workers in the fight against the virus should be prepared the way soldiers are prepared ahead of a war. The PPP chairman also said that the government was failing in fighting the coronavirus and stabilising the economy during the pandemic.
"They are against the 18th amendment and provincial autonomy, but the PM does not seem to be willing to act as the PM of the entire country", he said, adding that Imran Khan considers himself the PM of Islamabad only.
Further, he urged the federal government to invest in healthcare system in order to improve its capacity. "Sindh is trying to enhance its testing capacity, but we can't do it all without the federal government's support. Requesting the PM to assist the provinces in fight against corona, he said: "If we succeed you, succeed."
