Indian media has accused Pakistan of sending ‘terrorist locusts’ to their country under a conspiracy plan to carry out 'terrorist operations'.

Indian journalist Arnab Goswami in his show on Republic TV, claimed that ‘terrorist locusts’ are infiltrating India from the Pakistan’s border. “With the help of locusts, Pakistan is conspiring against India as apparently, these species are meant to carry out terror operations in the country.” He said that Pakistan is incapable of any armed-aggression that is why it is now resorting to sending in the locusts to destroy India.

The Indian journalist also criticised Prime Minister Imran Khan for not ‘managing’ the affairs of the country in a professional manner.

Meanwhile, food security in Pakistan is under threat as locusts swarm all across the food crops in several districts of Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan. Their attacks have become severer and some of the crop fields affected are reported to be in Multan, Muzzaffargarh, Vehari, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur in Punjab and Sanghar, Matiari, and Ghotki in Sindh.

To make up for the lack of assistance from the provincial or federal governments, farmers have resorted to drumming a loud wave of noise in an attempt to scare the locusts away.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) had announced a 24-hour hotline at 051-111-222-999 for the complaints regarding locusts swarming crop fields. They have also claimed to help with spraying the pests away.

Chairman Lt. Gen Muhammad Afzal had said that NDMA is fully equipped with pesticides for dealing with the locust crisis.
