A civil servant serving as DC Customs, Kareem Adil, shocked Twitter users when he used abusive language against senior journalist Matiullah Jan on Twitter for his criticism of the seizure of wine bottles by civil servants.

Matiullah Jan in his tweet had condemned the seizure of alcohol after Assistant Commissioner, Syed Shaheer had tweeted photos of the alcohol beverages he seized as if he had done something extraordinary.

The civil servant used inappropriate slurs for the journalist and called him an ‘Indian funded goon’. In a following tweet, Kareem further said that he has evidence that Matiuallah Jan is getting Indian funding but can’t disclose it as the information is classified.
After Karim Adil abused the journalist for his critical tweet, Syed Shaheer approved of his colleague’s abusive outburst. The said tweets have now been deleted and Adeel issued a one-sentence apology in a subsequent tweet.
