A man in Khanewal, along with his brother and his son severely tortured his wife for refusing to make tea.
According to a report in Dawn, the incident took place in Mian Channu area of Khanewal. The FIR, registered at Sadar police station, cited the victim woman as saying that she was at her residence when her brother-in-law and her son came with axes. They alleged that she had refused to make tea.
The woman stated that when her husband arrived on the scene, instead of saving her, he started to hit her too.
The woman was saved by her neighbours and was shifted to a hospital for treatment.
A case has been registered against the three attackers under Section 354 of the Pakistan Penal Code (assault or criminal force to a woman with an intent to outrage her modesty).
Meanwhile, the district police Officer informed media that teams had been formed for the arrest of the third suspect.

The woman stated that her brother-in-law struck her with the axe on her nose while his son hit her hand with the other axe. The brother-in-law then proceeded to drag her by her hair.

The Sadar Police Station Station House Officer Malik Tayyab Sarfaraz stated to media that two of the suspects, the woman’s husband and his nephew had been arrested.
